Singer Celine Dion broke down during an emotional interview with ABC News’ Deborah Roberts as she talked about helping her husband, René Angélil, as he battles cancer.
Angélil, 73, has throat cancer, and
Dion has been feeding him through a tube three times a day, the singer told ABC News.
“We are taking life one day at a time,” Dion said. “[But] we are choosing to live.”
Angélil first was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999, and Dion took a break from her Las Vegas residency last year when he was diagnosed again.
The couple has been married since 1994 and have three sons, a 14-year-old and twin 4-year-olds.
Dion, 46, will return to Caesars Palace Las Vegas in August.
Twitter users expressed support for the singer.
