Charlotte Church became the latest entertainer to reject a singing gig at Donald Trump's inauguration, suggesting a simple Internet search would have shown she wasn't a good choice.

The Welsh singer best known for religious tunes and her performance on the "A Beautiful Mind" soundtrack, said in a Twitter post on Tuesday that she was contacted by Trump's team, but pointed to her past online comments about him, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In December, while not mentioning him by name, Church's tweet expressed a sharp rebuke of the president-elect.

According to Vulture.com, Church was the latest in a growing list of entertainers who have turned down a chance to perform at Trump's inauguration.

Elton John denied an earlier announcement that he would perform, noted the website. Pop star Celine Dion and country music superstar Garth Brooks were both wooed by Las Vegas mogul Steve Wynn to perform but both rejected the invitation.

Famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, rock band Kiss, David Foster, and British singer Rebecca Ferguson have all declined for one reason or another, said Vulture.com.

NBC News reported that confirmed inauguration performers include the Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and "America's Got Talent" singer Jackie Evancho.

"The Rockettes represent the American people," Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn said about the inauguration. "The Mormon Tabernacle Choir represents the American people. And that's what we're concentrating on."

Patricia Phalen, a politics and pop culture professorThe George Washington University, told The Associated Press that while a celebrity backlash of an incoming is not knew, having the rejection play out on social media is.

"There have been times before when the Hollywood A-listers or the liberal elite in Hollywood have not liked the president," Phalen told the AP. "But they didn't have social media, they didn't have all the ways of getting out this vitriol against the president.
