Charmayne Maxwell, the singer who was a member of the 1990s R&B group Brownstone, died in Los Angeles last week after suffering a cut to her neck. She was 46.

Maxwell was at home Friday after her son's soccer game when her husband, music producer Carsten Soulshock, discovered that she'd fallen, broken a wine glass, and was bleeding profusely from the neck, a family source told TMZ.

Paramedics took Maxwell to Cedars Sinai Hospital but sources told the website that she died on the way there. Detectives are investigating the incident as an accident and believe there was no foul play involved.

Maxwell's brother Brandon Maxwell, while not detailing how his sister died, confirmed her death on social media in two Twitter posts.

Brownstone, which was on the MJJ music label owned by Michael Jackson in the 1990s, had one of its biggest hits with "If You Love Me," in 1995, according to E! News. The song earned the group a Grammy Award nomination.

Fellow Brownstone member Teisha Brown posted a tribute to Maxwell on Twitter.

Others contributed condolences as well on social media.
