Christie Brinkley released her new book, "Timeless Beauty: Over 100 Tips, Secrets, and Shortcuts to Looking Great," last week, and has revealed during her press tour that she's used everything from Botox to laser treatments to maintain her stunning looks.
"Having Botox injected into my forehead was a disaster," she said recently,
according to the Express (UK).
Brinkley, 61, said that despite the mishap with Botox in her forehead, she said it "worked wonders" for her neck.
"Beware doctors who use too much, as this can cause eyebrows to droop (which is what happened to me) or lift too much, which creates a surprised look," she cautioned.
The supermodel, who appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue three times in 1981 alone, also said she used fillers in "super tiny" doses to fill up an "indentation" on her forehead.
"What I don’t like about fillers is that people sometimes use them to become something they are not. I don’t think it looks youthful. I spend a lot of time in my book making sure that if somebody wants to go that route to go to the right place,"
she told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "You want to go to a qualified doctor who knows what he is doing."
Elsewhere, she said she's engaged in non-surgical lifting, laser treatment, and a hair thickening treatment called minoxidil. Last but now least, she's previously worn hair extensions after having her three pregnancies.
Asked why she hasn't written a book in 30 years, Brinkley, who had two children with second husband Billy Joel before marrying twice more, said she's done a good job of keeping busy.
"Life — it has a funny way of keeping you too busy," she said. "It wasn’t until I did the cover for People magazine where they actually handed me a bathing suit and said, 'Here you go.' I kind of got a nice reaction from it, and a lot of people wanted to know, 'What have you been doing? What is your routine?' I thought maybe it’s time to do that book."
