Connie Ditto, owner of a Virginia hair salon, has gone missing after sending an unusual text to her husband.
Ditto, who owns Organic Hair Studio in Henrico, Virginia, called her husband, Mark Ditto, about 8 p.m. Tuesday and said she wasn’t feeling well and
planned to stop at a walk-in clinic, WTVR reported.
She then texted him from the clinic and said they were sending her to the hospital for X-rays, Mark Ditto told police.
WTVR said that when police followed up, it was discovered Connie Ditto checked in at Patient First, but left before seeing the doctor. Later that night, her phone was turned off and no one could reach her.
Mark Ditto told the station that he and his two step-daughters, who are Connie Ditto’s biological children, went to Patient First looking for her and also to area hospitals. He also said she hurt her head in a recent fall and expressed concern there might have been an undiscovered injury associated with that.
Mark Ditto also said his wife struggled with alcoholism and depression, WTVR reported.
“I fear she’s driven off somewhere, that’s she’s blacked out and gone,”
Mark Ditto told the Daily Mail.
Connie Ditto drives a dark blue 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan, Fox 2 Now reported. She is a Hispanic female, 5-foot-2-inches tall, about 115 pounds, with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes.
Someone posting as Mark Ditto began a Facebook page,
Find Connie Ditto, and asked people there to keep an eye out for his wife or her vehicle.
In a discussion on the page, Mark Ditto or someone posting as him, wrote, “My gut feeling is that she did not want to wait at Patient First and went to another facility. Because of the Federal HIPPA laws regarding patient rights/privacy, no one will tell me anything. The mystery is why she turned her cell phone off, which has been off ever since.”
