"I'm so excited to host the American Country Awards with Trace Adkins," Patrick said in a statement,
according to Fox News. "I have no doubt he'll be able to keep up with me. I've become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR ... This is going to be a really cool experience and I'm excited to be a part of it. It's going to be a great show."
She later tweeted, "I have to boots and hats to prove how country I am too..... Y'all."
Patrick appeared last year in the music video for Miranda Lambert's "Fastest Girl in Town," as well as in the video for Colt Ford's "Drivin' Around Song."
Patrick is a spokesperson for Go Daddy, and she is the only woman to win an IndyCar Series race, which she did at the 2008 Indy Japan 300. She also finished third in the 2009 Indianapolis 500, the highest a woman has ever placed at the male-dominated event.
This year, she became the first female NASCAR driver to win a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole, when she scored the fastest qualifying lap since 1990 to earn a spot in the Daytona 500.
Adkins, 51, debuted in country music in 1995 with the album "Dreamin' Out Loud." He has made eight albums and two Greatest Hits compilations. His new album of Celtic-themed Christmas carols, "The King's Gift," is scheduled to be released Oct. 29.
Fox will air the show live from Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay hotel. Winners are selected online by fan votes in the categories of singles, albums, music videos and touring.
