"Dancing With the Stars" Season 25 celebrity cast was named Wednesday morning, which included 1980s hit-maker Debbie Gibson, "Shark Tank" star Barbara Corcoran," and NFL great Terrell Owens.
The celebrities were revealed on ABC's "Good Morning America" Wednesday. No one from the world of politics made the cast this year, even though former White House press secretary Sean Spicer was rumored to have been pursued by ABC executives to appear on the reality dance competition, the New York Post noted.
Gibson became the youngest person ever to write, produce and perform a No. 1 song at 17 when "Foolish Beat" reached the top spot in 1987, according to Biography.com. She also was known for hits "Only in My Dreams" and "Shake Your Love."
She has most recently performed on Broadway in shows including "Les Miserables," ABC said. Gibson will be teamed with Alan Bersten, who filled in for Maksim Chmerkovskiy during Season 24 when Chmerkovskiy was sidelined with a calf injury.
As a businesswoman, Corcoran has become a household name as an investor on the ABC hit series "Shark Tank." Corcoran, who will be paired with pro Keo Motsepe, is the cofounder of the New York City-based real estate empire The Corcoran Group, ABC said.
Owens, whose name was revealed earlier in the week, is a retired NFL wide receiver and second-leading pass catcher in NFL history in terms of career yards. A model and author now, he is paired with two-time "DWTS" champion Cheryl Burke, ABC noted.
One of the most intriguing pairings of the competition will likely be the husband and wife battle between 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, who will be partnered with dance pro Petra Murgatroyd, and former MTV host Vanessa Lachey, who will compete with dance pro Chmerkovskiy.
Drew Lachey, Nick Lachey's brother and fellow 98 Degrees band member, won the "DWTS" title during Season 2, ABC News pointed out.
Other celebrities and professional dance partners include Drew Scott, of HGTV's the "Property Brothers," dancing with Emma Slater; Sasha Pieterse, from the Freeform show "Pretty Little Liars," dancing with Gleb Savchenko; Derek Fisher, former NBA player and coach, dancing with Sharna Burgess; Victoria Arlen, former Paralympic gold medalist, dancing with Val Chmerkovskiy; Jordan Fisher, "Hamilton" Broadway star, dancing with Lindsay Arnold; Nikki Bella, professional wrestler, dancing with Artem Chigvintsev; Frankie Muniz, former "Malcolm in the Middle" star, dancing with Witney Carson; and Lindsey Stirling, internationally famous violinist, dancing with Mark Ballas.
ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" will premiere Sept. 18 at 8 p.m.
