Erin Storm, a 2008 contestant on “The Bachelor,” was reportedly killed Monday while piloting an ultralight aircraft in Los Angeles.
County coroner’s officials didn’t confirm Storm’s identity, however Storm's identity was widely reported on entertainment news sites,
according to the Los Angeles Daily News.
Storm, 41, reportedly died when the motorized hang glider she was piloting crashed near Hawthorne Municipal Airport, the Daily News said.
Storm competed on season 12 of “The Bachelor” for the love of Matt Grant, a British financier and business development manager, but was eliminated in the third episode.
Employees from Best Drilling and Pump, Inc. witnessed the crash and tried to rescue the pilot, whose legs were on fire when they pulled her from the wreckage,
according to NBC Southern California, which did not identify the victim.
Los Angeles County Fire officials told the station that she was in full cardiac arrest when rescue crews arrived and was pronounced dead at an area trauma center.
Storm posted about flying on her Facebook page, where she is listed as a pilot at Pacific Blue Air. A Jan. 13 post said: “Today was a wonderful day for me! I'm super grateful to have the opportunity to be flying these things! Thank you Henry Boger and Courtney Brin! 2016 is off to a phenomenal start!”
Grant told "ET" that he was "Massively shocked. Devastated for her family and friends. We were lucky to have Erin on season 12. She was genuine, self-assured, beautiful and hilarious."
The Hawthorn Police Department posted about Monday’s accident on Facebook.
Friends of Storm also posted about her death on social media.
