Giada De Laurentiis, star of Food Network's "Gaida at Home" and frequent guest host on NBC's "Today" show, has batted down rumors that she was cheating on her husband with Matt Lauer and other celebrities before announcing their divorce on Dec. 29.
"My long-time friendships with my co-workers Matt Lauer and Bobby Flay are exactly that — long-time friendships,"
she told Page Six of the New York Post on Wednesday.
"There has never been a romantic relationship with these two men,"
she told Gossip Cop that same day, while also denying she had a tryst with musician John Mayer — a rumor propagated by Star magazine.
"I have never ever been romantically involved with John Mayer. I met him twice at least 5 or 6 years ago at public events along with hundreds of other people. The small amount of face time with John was in rooms filled with other attendees at these events. I have not seen or even heard from him since. The allegation of an affair was a fabrication back in 2010 and remains so today," she explained.
Star magazine had also alleged that Laurentiis and the married Lauer were acting "like high school sweethearts" while filming a segment of "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" back in 2011. "It was almost uncomfortable, together in the ocean in bathing suits . . ." a source had told Star.
Page Six had previously reported that the TV chef had had a "very cozy" Park Avenue dinner with Lauer in late 2013, but reps later said it was a business dinner.
Laurentiis and her husband, fashion designer Todd Thompson, have a 6-year-old daughter named Jade,
The Huffington Post reported. They had been married 11 years before announcing their divorce.
