Jonah Hill joined Jimmy Fallon for #Hashtag2 on Wednesday's "Tonight Show," bringing back a viral bit from "Late Night" that spotlights hashtags' overuse online. Fallon did #hashtag the first time with Justin Timberlake, which has more than 21.7 million views.
In a casual conversation, Hill and Fallon have the most annoying conversation imaginable as they hashtag everything, including a hand gesture with crossed fingers. “Things been a little crazy hashtag livin’ la vida loca,” Hill opened the segment.

Hill asks Fallon about his daughter and here was the answer: “She’s great. Actually we play a lot of games. Hashtag patty cake, hashtag peekaboo, hashtag got your nose, hashtag speaking of I got your nose, I think somebody played that with Lord Voldemort, hashtag just watched ‘Prisoner of Akzeban,’ hashtag getting my wizard on, hashtag Professor Snape, hashtag Harry Potter.”
The allure of the original hashtag skit didn’t fail Fallon, as Twitter lit up with positive reviews.
Many commented on Questlove, The Roots drummer who popped in at the end of the skit and offered an unprintable hashtag comment.
“#QuestLove rules,” wrote Deb Bellingham on YouTube.
“I loved being reminded of how much I hate what my generation has done to the world. #learntowritecompletethoughtsyouilliteratecretans #wheresJT,” wrote Clark Ellis.
At the helm of "The Tonight Show" for just three days, Fallon has had one viral video hit after another so far. He opened Monday with the “Evolution of Hip Hop Dancing” with Will Smith, which has nearly 7 million YouTube views; then on Tuesday, his barbershop quartet “The Ragtime Gals” covered R. Kelly's "Ignition. On Wednesday night, Fallon's team pieced together clips of NBC anchor
Brian Williams to make him perform "Rapper's Delight."
