Hershey's new logo is raising a stink online after many jokesters said it looks like the popular "happy poop" emoticon popular on mobile phones.

Tech site Mashable.com reported that the new logo "hit the fan" shortly after being introduced on Thursday, with great fun being had at Hershey's expense.

Under Consideration's Brand New blog said that the new logo was "designed by Hershey Global Design — led by Ron Burrage, senior director global head of design — and Cincinnati, Ohio-based goDutch with a custom font by New York, New York-based Alexander Design Associates."

The brand experts praised the transition from a real-life picture of the Hershey's Kiss to the flat, more traditional logo, and also said that the font was beautiful. It even praised the subtle craft involved in having the letter "R" cradle the letter "S."

Nonetheless, many resorted to schoolyard humor, Photoshopping the poor logo into oblivion.

New logos are often ripe for immediate parody these days, with vacation rental site Airbnb's new logo being compared to female sexual anatomy, among other things, in July.
