Jennifer Lawrence's Pixie Haircut Continues Celebrity Trend

By    |   Thursday, 07 November 2013 09:52 AM EST

Jennifer Lawrence's pixie cut is making headlines after the 23-year-old Academy Award-winning actress of "The Hunger Games" and "Silver Linings Playbook" chopped off her hair earlier this week.

Lawrence's somewhat drastic haircut continues a trend to lop off long locks in recent weeks by celebrities Jennifer Aniston, Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Hudson, and Pamela Anderson, who on Sunday ran the New York City Marathon in less than six hours.

Lawrence is promoting the second installment of her hit film franchise, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," which opens in theaters on Nov. 22.

In an interview with Yahoo's Movie Talk, Lawrence discussed embarrassing experiences while filming. She accidently spit an egg into the mouth of "Catching Fire" director Francis Lawrence, no relation, when the two met for the first time on the set prior to filming.

Online reactions to Lawrence's new cut have been positive for the most part.
