The libertarian Reason TV released a satirical video Thursday countering
Jim Carrey's recent anti-gun video "Cold Dead Hand," in which the actor mocks the late Hollywood legend Charlton Heston for his pro Second Amendment stance and implies that gun advocacy is backward.
In the Reason TV video, entitled "Remy: Jim Carrey's Cold Dead Hand - A Rebuttal" (below), self-described libertarian rapper Remy mimic's Carrey's Western cowboy theme while pointing out the inconsistencies between the comedian's anti-gun stance and his movie roles that appear to embrace gun violence.
In the video Carrey is seen on the red carpet as Remy sings: "Sometimes stars get armed guards when they make a million buckers, then call you heartless m****r f*****s to want the same. Is it the fame?"

Remy is referring to a previous Twitter post by Carrey, in which the actor tweeted: "'Cold Dead Hand' is abt u heartless motherf%ckers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids. Sorry if you're offended…"
The video illustrates the seeming hypocrisy between Carrey's current anti-gun position and his selection of acting roles.
There are clips of Carrey firing a Tommy Gun in the movie "The Mask" and shooting another man with a handgun in "Dumb & Dumber," as Remy sings: "It takes a talking ass to tell people they can't arm, when you don't walk around without an unarmed bodyguard . . . It takes a talking ass to be out their passing blame when you've shot someone one every TV every made."

Carrey has yet to respond to the Reason TV video.
The comedic actor responded on Twitter to critics who attacked him for his anti-gun position, posting: "Thx 4 your input 2day. I don't think i've ever felt so despised and so free at the same time. It's been delightfully. ;^}"
