Josh Duggar Breaks Silence on Social Media With 'Happy Birthday' Post

By    |   Tuesday, 16 June 2015 02:49 PM EDT

Josh Duggar broke his social media silence this week, less than a month after a child molestation scandal marred his squeaky clean reputation.

The 27-year-old father of three took to Instagram Monday to wish his son a happy fourth birthday.

“Happy 4th Birthday Michael James!” Duggar captioned the photo, which has drawn more than 43,000 likes on the photo-sharing platform.

Anna Duggar, Josh’s wife, also posted on social media Tuesday following a prolonged silence, according to Us Weekly. She put up a short video on Instagram showing her son blowing out his birthday candles.

Last month, news broke that Josh Duggar had fondled four of his sleeping sisters and a babysitter when he was 14 back in 2002 and 2003. The eldest sibling on "19 Kids & Counting," Duggar publicly apologized via his family’s Facebook account, and said both his wife and family had known about the incident.

Anna Duggar also released a statement about the scandal to Us Weekly last month.

“[I know] who Josh really is — someone who had gone down a wrong path and had humbled himself before God and those whom he had offended," she said. "Someone who had received the help needed to change the direction of his life and do what is right."

The scandal forced Josh Duggar to resign from his position with the Family Research Council and prompted his family to move back to Arkansas from Washington, D.C. TLC pulled episodes of the family's reality show from its lineup with no word about a return.
