Katie Couric learned the hard way to never leave a cellphone next to comedian Amy Schumer, as the star of the movie "Trainwreck" will surely stage a prank.
During a Wednesday appearance on Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show," Schumer talked about how she attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards and sat at the same table as Couric, actress Mindy Kaling, and talk show host Stephen Colbert. At one point, Couric left her phone on the table and went to meet husband John Molner, who she did not expect to attend.
"Anyway, so then Katie is like, 'Oh, my God! My husband is here. He wasn't even invited. This is so embarrassing,'"
Schumer said to Fallon, according to E! Online.
"She left her phone open to texts from him. Don't worry. I didn't do anything," Schumer continued. "Except I picked it up, just without even thinking, to text him: 'I wanna have anal tonight.' And I sent it."
Schumer said that she showed what she did to Kaling and Colbert.
"I go, 'Look what happened!' [Kaling's] like, 'What do you mean what happened? You did that! You just did that," Schumer told Fallon laughing. "I show Colbert and he is on the floor laughing — like, on the floor. Katie comes back like 90 seconds later and her and her husband are like, 'So . . . we're leaving.' Like, 'I don't know why he wants to leave.'"
Couric responded on Twitter Thursday, acknowledging that she should have never left her unattended cellphone around Schumer.
Schumer has been working the talk-show circuit to promote the movie "Trainwreck," which opens in theaters on Friday. The movie, the Comedy Central star's first, also features Bill Hader, LeBron James, and Brie Larson.
The comedian also appears on the cover of GQ's August Comedy issue in a "Star Wars" themed setting with Chewbacca.
