Acting students who desire a glimpse into the mind of a master can learn from Kevin Spacey for just $90 now that the actor has signed up to teach a course with the new online education platform MasterClass.
The Academy Award-winning actor joins other big names already offering their expertise on the website, including tennis pro Serena Williams, bestselling author James Patterson, and actor Dustin Hoffman, just to name a few.
Spacey's class will feature 29 online videos, a 40-page workbook, and the opportunity to upload acting videos for him to
critique, according to the MasterClass website.
The talented "House of Cards" actor, who also starred in "The Usual Suspects" and "American Beauty," announced the class this week by quoting Jack Lemmon: "If you've done well, it is your duty to send the elevator back down."
In a video message about the class, he said, "The teachers, mentors, and those who gave me opportunities along the way have made me feel blessed because they taught me the value of striving to be your best. From Joe Papp to Alan Pakula, Sam Mendes and Bryan Singer — I have learned so much from being in their masterclasses — that now MasterClass takes my experiences and combines them in a way that now allows me to give back to others."
"This is what I want for Christmas!" one person commented on the YouTube page featuring Spacey's video.
Another added, "Kevin Spacey inspired me at a young age to be an actor. The fact I could learn from him is the chance of a lifetime."
Spacey hit Twitter hard to let people know about his class, and to offer a proposition or two to other teachers, including Williams and Christina Aguilera:
