Kristen Bell took on the role of Mary Poppins in a
"Funny or Die" sketch that had the beloved nanny quitting her job over low wages.
The video was posted Wednesday and already has over 140,000 hits on the comedy website.
“I’m afraid I’m leaving for good this time, children,” Bell announced to young children who tried to convince her to stay despite her less-than-minimum wages.

"Just a three dollar increase can make a living wage," she sings to the tune of "A Spoonful of Sugar." "I don't get these birds for free!"
Using a poster to explain the difference between minimum wage and a living wage of $10.10, Bell sings to the astonished children and manages to pull off a few Mary Poppins-worthy magic tricks.
She even pulls in some animated penguins to make her point, singing about how Papa Penguin needs to take a second job to make ends meet. “A penguin hoppin’ off to work is feeling like a jerk; he can’t even buy some fish to feed his kids,” Bell sings. “He takes a second job at night, the penguin parents start to fight; they’re broke; they smoke; their college fund’s a joke.”
At one point, singing to her image, which is singing different words, Bell stops and asks, “Are you a Republican?” to which her image replies, “I do like a good tea party.”
Predictably, such a hot-button political issue — even raised by the popular Bell — got mixed reviews online.
“Arguing that a federal minimum wage hike is the only way to lift many American workers out of poverty. That or hard work but who wants to work for success these days when the government can provide it for free!” one
