Lesley Ann Warren, synonymous with the role of Cinderella from her 1965 television performance, will attend the current Broadway production of the "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella" musical on Sept. 23 and have a small cameo.

Warren will join the cast in singing "Ten Minutes Ago" in the encore performance, according to Broadway World.com. The Oscar-Award nominated actress told The Associated Press that she has not seen the play done live on Broadway but is sure the experience will be something special.

"I'm really looking forward to it," Warren told the AP in a telephone interview.

The latest Broadway casting for "Cinderella" created a buzz in August when producers named the first African-American lead for the play, veteran child actress Keke Palmer who appeared in movies such as "Akeelah and the Bee" and "Joyful Noise," according to CNN.

Warren was nominated for a best supporting actress Academy Award in 1983 for her role in the movie "Victor Victoria" and she won a Golden Globe in 1978 for best actress in the television drama for the show "Harold Robbins 79 Park Avenue."

The Wrap reported in August that Warren recently signed on to play Zachary Quinto's mother in the upcoming independent film "Michael," which also stars James Franco, as an anti-gay preacher who used to be gay, and Emma Roberts.

Warren is also identifiable by her role as Miss Scarlet in the movie "Clue," along with her past recurring roles on former series "Desperate Housewives" and "Will & Grace," the Wrap noted. She also appeared in the USA series "In Plain Sight."

"Cinderella" has played to large audiences since its most recent return to Broadway in March 2013 at the Broadway Theatre, noted Broadway World.com. A national tour will begin in Providence, Rhode Island, on Oct. 10.
