Luke Gatti, Drunk UConn Student, Possibly Expelled for Mac 'n' Cheese Rant

Luke Gatti, a student at the University of Connecticut, may have been expelled after his drunken rant for macaroni and cheese at the school cafeteria got him arrested this week while simultaneously turning him into an Internet viral star.

In a nine-minute video posted to YouTube Monday and laced with profanity, the 19-year-old from Bayville, New York, confronts several cafeteria employees and even starts a physical altercation. All because of some macaroni and cheese.

In the Sunday night incident, Gatti reportedly entered the on-campus Union Street Market with an open container of alcohol, prompting the staff to refuse to serve him, the Hartford Courant reported. The teen then starts his belligerent outburst and proceeds to get verbally and physically abusive with university officials.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m going to get expelled for this. Just give me some f***ing bacon jalapeño mac and cheese," Gatti can be heard saying in the video clip.

"Upon arrival police saw Gatti being detained by Union Street Market employees," the Hartford Courant quoted a police report. "Police took Gatti into custody and learned through statements that Gatti had been refused service due to drinking alcohol in the market. After being told to leave several times, Gatti refused and became verbally and physically abusive with staff. Gatti shoved the manager several times before he was detained by staff."

According to Snapchat images posted by Death and Taxes, as well as several tweets from UConn students, Gatti was later expelled.

University of Connecticut spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz would not confirm or deny the expulsion to the Hartford Courant, citing federal student privacy provisions.

"Generally speaking, any UConn student found to have violated the provisions of the Student Code may face penalties imposed by the Division of Student Affairs that range from probation to expulsion," Reitz told the newspaper.

Gatti was twice arrested for disorderly conduct in 2014 while he was a student at the University of Massachusetts, MassLive.com reported.
