Remodeling of actor Mark Wahlberg’s Los Angeles home recently was completed and the result is a 30,000-square-foot palatial estate.
Wahlberg, whose net worth is said to be about $200 million, bought the six-acre property in the Beverly Park neighborhood for $8 million and
hired architect Richard Landry to design the house, The Daily Mail reported.
Landry, who has designed houses for celebrities including Tom Brady, Haim Saban, Wayne Gretzky, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Rod Stewart, described
Wahlberg's house as a “traditional family house,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"My goal always has to go with finding the right proportions,” Landry told THR. “It is not about building bigger and bigger homes. There are no ginormous rooms here — there's no ballroom, no bowling alley, no indoor basketball court. I've done most of those kinds of things in other projects, but here it's really a good traditional family house with no craziness to it."
The estate includes a basketball court, a putting green, a rock formation swimming pool, two Jacuzzis, a large motor court, a home theater, a wine cellar, a large gym, and a two-story library. The site also includes a 2,200-square-foot outdoor room and a guest house.
Wahlberg lives with his wife, Rhea Durham, and four children who range in age from 4 to 11. He currently is filming “Ted 2.”
