Meghan Markle may be quitting the television series "Suits" ahead of her expected engagement to Prince Harry, London's Daily Star reported.

The Sunday Express first reported in October 2016 that Markle, who has played the role of paralegal Rachel Zane since "Suits" premiered in 2011 on the USA Network, and the prince had been secretly dating. Since then, Prince Harry and the actress have made their relationship public.

The Daily Star said Markle has yet to sign on to a new season of the drama series and that

Buckingham Palace would want the television star to end her acting roles to become a member of the royal family.

Markle has been flying from Toronto, where "Suits" is filmed, to England on breaks, The Sun reported.

"Meghan loved playing Rachel and feels she owes so much to 'Suits,'" a source told The Sun last week. "But Harry can't move to Toronto, so she'll have to move eventually if they want to be together. Her decision to give up the biggest role of her career would mean a lot."

The Daily Star said a royal insider told Marie Claire that the couple is "as good as engaged" and already talking about the wedding dress.

"While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it's fair to say they're as good as engaged now," the source told Marie Claire, per the Daily Star. "They've spoken about their marriage plans openly with each other, and friends and family around them are pretty much thinking about wedding attire already."

The Daily Star said Markle not signing on to "Suits" would be a big hint that the couple was moving toward a royal marriage.

In a Vanity Fair article this month, Markle opened up about her relationship with Prince Harry for the first time.

"We're two people who are really happy and in love," Markle told Vanity Fair. "We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people's perception. Nothing about me changed. I'm still the same person that I am, and I've never defined myself by my relationship."
