Mel Gibson's jungle oasis mansion in the Costa Rica province of Guanacaste is up for sale a second time after the star failed to find a buyer for the property back in 2012.

The Costa Rica Star called Gibson's 500-acre jungle property in Playa Barrigona – with its Spanish Colonial-style, three-villa complex – one of the most famous in the country.

The real estate website Curbed.com listed the property at $29.75 million and expressed surprise that the property was still on the market.

"For some reason, no one is snapping up actor Mel Gibson's … Costa Rican villa, which is totally weird considering the property comes with 500 acres of private jungle," noted Curbed.com. "Are there really not any other celebrities or rich people who desire to obscure their fame in a lush rain forest?"

The Star reported that Gibson purchased the property in 2007 as a hideaway when his career went into a tailspin after making anti-Semitic comments during a 2006 DUI arrest in California. The secluded property includes a seven-bedroom mansion and two guest homes.

The Star suggested in 2011, though, that the property may no longer be secluded enough for Gibson.

"At the end of last year, Mr. Gibson decided to put the property on the market, ostensibly because the paparazzi had once again found a way to intrude upon his privacy by hiking a few kilometers on the sand from Playa Buena Vista or Playa Samara," the newspaper reported then.

In 2011, singer Lady Gaga was rumored to have shown interest in the property but that never materialized. The publication added that Gibson may just be trying to make a buck off the property, after buying it for $25 million.

Gibson had a hefty co-starring role this summer in the Sylvester Stallone-driven "Expendables 3" where he played antagonist Stonebanks. The movie, which also co-starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford, was released in August. It has made $39 million domestically and $204 globally at the box office so far, according to Box Office Mojo.
