Monsanto will settle a slew of class action lawsuits over genetically modified wheat for $350,000, it announced Wednesday.

According to NBC News, the suits were brought by farmers in seven states: Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. To settle them, the St. Louis-based company will donate $50,000 to agricultural schools at land grant colleges in each state.

The lawsuits were filed after genetically modified wheat was found on an Oregon farm in May 2013. It remains unclear how the wheat arrived, but its discovery cost farmers orders from Japan and South Korea. The incident also prompted the European Union to call for more testing of wheat grown in the U.S.

After an investigation, the USDA said it believes the discovery was an isolated incident.

The $350,000 settlement comes on the heels of a November settlement that closed the case with farmers in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

A related case in Arkansas remains open, the company said.
