Spider Dog – actually just a dog dressed as a spider that is scaring the bejeebers out of people – appears to have hit viral gold for Polish video prankster SA Wardega's latest bit of fun before Halloween.
The video, guaranteed to give you a few chills and some good chuckles in its nearly four-minute run, has been viewed 3.9 million times since its posting on YouTube on Thursday.
In one scene, the costumed dog stands on a man who appears to be dead covered in a pretend web on an elevator while two women wait for the doors to open. They scream and run away when the see the faux horrible sight.

In another scene, a couple is walking in the woods when they see something caught in a web. The couple runs away and dog gives chase, probably thinking it's part of a game.
In yet another scene, a man happens upon what looks like body parts caught in a web when the "spider dog" runs upon the shocked man, who stumbles away and then races away. In the end, it's all in good fun, except for the victims who probably believe there really is such a thing as a mutant spider dog.
"People scream seeing the pooch standing over a 'dead body' in a lift, but our hearts really go out to the poor guy who, when trying to escape the abomination, gets caught in a giant 'web,'"
writes Oliver Wheaton, of Metro.com.
"Watching it a second time round makes it a little less scary as you realize the dog is only chasing people because he thinks it is part of a game, but this is obviously hard to decipher when eight huge fury legs are coming towards you," Wheaton wrote.
"You can hardly blame the victims for failing to waste precious seconds confirming whether that dog-sized spider is actually a dog-sized dog," said Jay Hathaway of Gawker.com after watching the video.
Some Twitter followers got into the mutant spider dog costume as well.
