Niagara Falls has partially frozen over, and images of the sight are spreading on social media.
While water continues to flow at the falls, layers of ice, snow, and mist create an icy impression.
"The attention the falls is receiving is bringing a crowd to view them in their majestic, winter splendor,"
Michelle Blackley, a spokeswoman for Niagara Falls, told USA Today.
Temperatures at Niagara Falls, New York, are expected to stay at or below freezing and reach a low of
minus-9 degrees on Thursday night, according to The Weather Channel.
Twitter users commented about the beauty of the images and criticized the news reports accompanying them.
