Paris Hilton fell victim to a morbid hoax in which an Egyptian prank show made the socialite think her plane was crashing last week.
While in Dubai for a hotel grand opening, "Ramez in Control" invited Hilton on a 15-minute aerial tour of the city with Ramez Galal, the show’s host. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot pretends to lose control of the plane, which begins diving and performing other realistic crash stunts. Hilton and the other passengers then break into hysterics when the pilot cuts the engine.
The plane’s alarm goes off and another passenger opens the plane’s door and tosses another man out of the jet. The heiress continues to sob and screams,
“I don’t want to jump,” The Huffington Post reported.
Once the plane lands, Galal, who had been sitting next to Hilton during the incident, approaches her and tells her that it was all a hoax.
“I’m going to kill you,” Hilton promptly responds. “I almost thought I was going to die . . . That's been my biggest fear my whole life, dying in a plane."
Hilton tweeted about the terrifying incident afterwards.
This is not Galal’s first prank in which he has made celebrities fear for their lives. He pulled a similar stunt last year when he convinced several Arab stars that they were going to be eaten
alive by sharks, according to Albawaba Entertainment. The show was nearly canceled in May because Ashraf Atef, Egypt’s prosecutor general, claims Galal stole the idea for the show from him.
In the midst of the show’s uncertain future, viewers took to Twitter to say they think Galal has gone too far.
