Lottery officials have announced on the Powerball website that no ticket has matched all Saturday's numbers drawn for that game's giant jackpot, which now swells to an estimated $400 million or a $223.6 million cash-option value.
The five numbers drawn Saturday evening in the multi-state game were 1-17-25-37-44 and the Powerball: 20.
Entering the weekend Powerball drawing, the jackpot had been estimated at $317 million with a potential cash option value of more than $176 million, according to The Associated Press.

Big jackpots in the nine-digit range tend to pull in more players.
The Arizona Lottery reported a record-breaking fiscal year in 2013 because of two huge Powerball lotteries.
Lottery revenue in Arizona hit $692.9 million, up 7.2 percent from 2012, the most in the lottery’s history. Lottery officials there said the big jackpots, along with new games, drew players.
Experts attribute an increasing population of retirees in the sunny state, who tend to have time and income to play the lottery.

While big jackpots may draw Powerball players out to buy tickets, they also can be a challenge for people with gambling addictions.
“The craziness comes out when the jackpot gets bigger,” an unidentified man in Gamblers Anonymous told CBS. “I’ve known people in my career in recovery who have relapsed just because of the lottery.”
