Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday, the first British royal couple to reach such a milestone. They were married at Westminster Abbey on Nov. 20, 1947.
Over the weekend, Buckingham Palace released new photos of Queen Elizabeth, 91, and Prince Philip, 96, taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle earlier this month by photographer Matt Holyoak, London's Daily Mail reported.
The Evening Standard reported the royal couple was framed by Thomas Gainsborough's 1781 portraits of George III and Queen Charlotte, who were married for 57 years.
Prince Philip has retired from public life but still make sporadic appearances with Queen Elizabeth, the "Today" show reported. He was hospitalized in June with undisclosed health issues, the morning show started.
