A new campaign committee called Run the Rock 2020 is encouraging Dwayne Johnson to run for president.

The organization was officially filed to the Federal Election Commission by West Virginian Kenton Tilford on Sunday, The Hill reported. It is not known whether Tilford has any connection to Johnson.

Johnson has joked on “Saturday Night Live” about running for president, and suggested he might be considering a presidential run in a GQ article in May.

Johnson told GQ he would oppose some of President Donald Trump’s policies, such as the travel ban, and that he wanted to see better leadership and “poise” from the Oval Office.

“I believe in national security to the core, but I don’t believe in a ‘ban’ that bans immigrants,” he said.

“The Rock” also has shown strong support for U.S. troops and done several fundraisers and appearances for them.

The actor and former professional wrestler has attended both the Republican and Democratic conventions and is registered as an independent, according to The Hill.

Johnson is currently one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, with movies that grossed over $1 billion last year.

As a spoof, he showed up during the "SNL" finale last year with a podium that said “The Rock” Johnson 2020.

Twitter fans were a little skeptical about “The Rock’s” qualifications to run the country.
