Singer Sam Smith said he celebrated his Grammy Award wins by dropping 14 pounds in two weeks with the help of a nutritional therapist.
The singer took to Instagram to show off the weight loss and praised Amelia Freer and her book "Eat. Nourish. Glow." in helping with his transformation,
reported People magazine.
Smith is coming off a huge night at the Grammy Awards in February where he won for awards for record and song of the year for his tune "Stay with Me," best pop vocal album for "In the Lonely Hour," and best new artist.
"Before I made this record, I was doing everything to try to get my music heard," Smith told
BBC News before the Grammy Awards. "I tried to lose weight and I was making awful music. It was when I started to be myself that the music flowed."
After accepting the award for record of the year, Smith could not help but have a little fun with his acceptance speech and poke fun at a broken relationship, noted the BBC News.
"I want to thank the man who this record is about, who I fell in love with last year," Smith said. "Thank you so much for breaking my heart because you got me four Grammys."
People reported that Freer has also inspired the likes the 1980s British crooner Boy George as well.
"Amelia has proved to me how powerful and important food is," the former Culture Club leader singer is quoted as saying on the author's
website. "It is literally everything. 'You are what you eat' is no joke. Working with Amelia changed my relationship with food."
