Sarah Palin will begin touring for her new book, "Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas," next week as the holiday season fast approaches.
With a Nov. 12 kickoff at a Barnes & Noble in Bethlehem, Pa.,
the former Alaskan governor will begin her tour that will focus on America's South and Midwest, particularly at military bases. Her tour will avoid major metropolitan areas on the East and West coasts such as New York City and Los Angeles,
The New York Times reported.

In its
description of the book, publisher Harper-Collins wrote: "At a time when Christian values are challenged — when the greeting 'Merry Christmas' has been replaced by the supposedly less offensive 'Happy Holidays' — Governor Sarah Palin makes the case for bringing back the freedom to express the religious spirit of the season."
"Palin defends the importance of preserving Jesus Christ in Christmas — whether in public displays, school concerts, and pageants, or in our hearts — and delivers a sharp rebuke to today's society for the homogenization of the holiday season," Harper-Collins added.
Palin has written two other books.
The first book was her personal and political memoir called "Going Rogue: An American Life," which was published in 2009.

The second
book, published in 2010, was "America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag," which the publisher described as "a bible of American virtues for anyone hoping to understand the truths that lie at the heart of the nation."
Both books were New York Times best-sellers.
