Sean Hannity went after singer songwriter Ryan Adams on his show Tuesday night, calling the alternative country rocker a "gutless little coward" after he insulted the conservative Fox News host on Twitter.
The tweet, which has since been removed, read: "Your entire soul is controlled by fear and hate. Evolve little chicken man. See reality."
Adams was reportedly reacting to Hannity’s charge that there are no role models in society, citing the
disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner who is a candidate in the New York City Mayoral race, and embattled baseball player
Alex Rodriguez, the New York Yankees third basemen who is facing a 221 game suspension for doping.

Hannity proceeded to invite Ryan onto his show to discuss the tweet further, to which the rocker responded on Twitter:
Shortly after, progressive TV commentator Tamara Holder, who was selected by Hannity to appear in Ryan’s absence, responded to Ryan’s Twitter response.
Within 90 minutes, Hannity himself weighed in on Twitter, appearing to egg on Ryan while still attempting to land him on his show for an interview.
Ryan concluded the Twitter exchange by referring to Hannity as a "terrorist."
Hannity subsequently discussed Ryan’s tweet with Holder, as well as Miss Oklahoma Anna-Marie Costello who joined the panel and weighed into the incident.
Hannity led off the segment by introducing Ryan to his audience as someone "you probably don’t know him, he’s not that popular."

The Fox News host went on to joke that, considering Ryan had called him a terrorist, an effective means of torturing actual terrorists would be to "play [Ryan’s] music, which is not that popular anyway, and that would probably, [in] a 24-hour loop, drive them nuts."
Holder defended Ryan’s tweet, saying he had every right to express his opinion about Hannity on Twitter, saying: "I think you’re just insulted you don’t have a rock star on your program."
Hannity continued his taunt of Ryan, telling him that he should come on his show and defend his Twitter remark, rather than "being a wimp, hiding behind his rock star makeup like [the] little gutless little coward that he is."
