WWE’s Seth Rollins put Jon Stewart in a headlock Thursday night and challenged him to appear on the upcoming "Monday Night Raw," escalating the back-and-forth sparring between the two that’s been going on for a week.
Rollins showed up unexpectedly on “The Daily Show” first in a video appearance.
“I’ve heard every single thing that you’ve been saying about me. I hope, my friend, that you are prepared for a world of hurt,” Rollins broke into Stewart’s Moment of Zen, appearing on video.
Stewart, responding to the hijack and talking trash about Rollins' wrestling background, Rollins strolled up behind him on set. “Why don’t you shut your mouth and bring it, pal,” Rollins spit over Stewart’s shoulder.
“I will bring it. Although, unfortunately, I don’t have it with me right now. So I will perhaps look for it and meet you somewhere at a later date, like gentlemen,” Stewart responded.
So Rollins promptly invited him to appear on “Monday Night Raw.”
The whole thing started last week when Rollins spouted off about how he could replace Stewart on “The Daily Show” and “make that thing actually watchable.”
Stewart came right back at the
WWE wrestler in a video post, saying, “This is the biggest mistake you ever made by coming after ‘The Daily Show,’ you just stepped in a world of hurt, my friend. I’m comin’ for you, Rollins. And you’re gonna see it, 160 pounds of dynamite. Obviously not dynamite. My bone density is not what it used to be. 160 pounds of wood, like a soft wood, like a pine, like a balsa. Still, splinters. That’s gonna hurt.”
While Stewart seemed to accept the challenge to appear on “Monday Night Raw,” it’s unclear whether he’ll actually show up for the show.
