Tessanne Chin won Season 5 of “The Voice” Tuesday night, ending team Blake Shelton’s three-win streak.
The Jamaican songstress’ victory gave Adam Levine his first win as a coach on the popular show that closed out its season with special guests Lady Gaga and Celine Dion.

Still, with all of that star power, the night belonged to Chin, 28, a backup singer from Kingston, Jamaica, who turned all four judges' chairs during her blind audition and commanded their attention throughout the competition with her vocal gifts.
Her humility and gratitude, always on display, also made her popular with the audience.
“It's just been an amazing journey and I could not do this without the little island of Jamaica,"
Chin said in a segment Tuesday before she was crowned, People magazine reported.
"But I most importantly could not do it without the amazing new family and supporters I have here in the U.S. Thank you for accepting me and thank you for bringing me this far."
Levine praised her. "Tessanne Chin deserved to win this and there's no one on this planet Earth other than her family and her husband who is more proud of her — this was all her," said Levine, whose team win follows his recent selection as “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine.
“A better coach for me I could not find,”
she told Levine before Daly announced she had won, the New York Daily News reported. “I thank you every day for choosing me.”
Chin’s performance of Whitney Houston's hit "I Have Nothing" Monday left her coach nearly speechless.
"You are just capable of anything and it blows me away," Levine said after her performance. "I know in my mind and heart you are the winner of this show."
Voters agreed. Chin’s victory against Will Champlin and Jacquie Lee earned her a recording contract and a collaboration with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, who wrote a song for the title-holder.
