Tim McGraw and Faith Hill performed a surprise duet at Sunday night's Academy of Country Music Awards, proving that the husband and wife duo is as strong as ever.

McGraw started off the set — a traditionally styled country tune called "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" — alone on stage until about halfway through. That's when Hill, clad in a shimmering silver gown, came out to sing along as the crowd erupted in applause.

Twitter fans reacted immediately to the McGraw-Hill duet.

McGraw and Hill have had much success with some of their duets. The 1997 hit "It's Your Love" even scooped up four ACM Awards the year it was released.

Later in the night, McGraw split the award for Video of the Year with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban for their hit "Highway Don't Care."
