While her grandmother slept inside, an 18-month-old George girl was mauled to death in her yard by a pack mixed-breed of dogs owned by the child's family.
The attack occurred Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m., according to Bryan County Sheriff Clyde Smith, the
Savannah Morning News reported.
The grandmother awoke after she heard the commotion in her yard and then watched from a window as the dogs attacked her granddaughter. She was unable to reach the little girl in time to help, The Associated Press reported.
The dogs were euthanized by Bryan County Animal Control.
