Starbucks has rolled out a special drink for Halloween, the Zombie Frappuccino, which is available from Thursday until Halloween on Tuesday.

The drink is green, purple, and red, and is flavored with mocha, green apple, and caramel flavorings. The whipped cream is light purple and supposed to look like brains, while red mocha syrup is drizzled down the insides to look like blood. The main part of the drink is zombie green.

Starbucks seems to have kept more of a lid on Zombie Frap, although some word of it did leak out on Twitter as baristas posted pictures of the instructions for making the drink.

While publicity is usually highly sought after, Forbes reported the coffee company didn’t want to cause a repeat of spring’s Unicorn Frappuccino, which created such heavy demand that stores sold out of the coveted drinks long before the promotion had officially ended, angering some customers.

The official announcement was made by Starbucks' main and the Frappuccino Twitter pages Thursday morning when the drink became available.

While plenty of excited customers posted pics of their drinks this morning, its taste is drawing mixed reviews from those who tried it.
