Former White House press secretary Josh Earnest has joined NBC News as a political analyst, Axios first reported Monday.
Earnest, was former President Barack Obama's frontman for the final three years of his administration.
Earnest was announced Monday, making his first appearance on the "Today" show.
"Josh will be a great addition to our roster of contributors and will be an asset for our two networks as we continue to cover the White House, Congress and politics beyond the Beltway," NBC president Noah Oppenheim and MSNBC president Phil Griffin said in an internal memo obtained by Axios.
