Kellyanne Conway, President Donald Trump's senior adviser, urged viewers on "Fox & Friends" to go out and buy items from his daughter Ivanka's line of clothing and accessories.
"Go buy Ivanka's stuff, is what I would tell you," Conway said. "I hate shopping, and I'm going to go get some for myself today."
Her comments came at the end of an interview on the Fox News' show. A video of Conway making the statement was posted on Twitter by Daily Beast Senior Editor Andre Kirell.
President Trump had lashed out at Nordstrom on Wednesday for dropping his daughter's clothing line.
The Hill reported former President Barack Obama's ethics czar Norm Eisen said the president's criticism is "an abuse of the office of the presidency."
"It is an example of why Donald Trump and his family needed to step away, needed to make a more definitive break," he said.
