While she did not definitively rule it out, Ann Romney downplayed talk of a Mitt Romney presidential run, saying the couple is "not making plans" for 2016.

In an interview aired yesterday on Fox News, Romney was asked directly whether Mitt Romney would consider another run for president in 2016.

Ann Romney didn't rule out the possibility that her husband might be seen on the campaign trail in 2016.
"Mitt and I, at this point, are not making plans," Romney told host Neil Cavuto, adding that she believes people now recognize "that Mitt was right, and that feels good."
Cavuto went on to pose a hypothetical scenario: If former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush doesn't run, would Mitt Romney run then?
"Well, we will see, won't we, Neil?" said Ann Romney, adding that it was her belief Bush would be in the 2016 field of GOP candidates. Asked why a Bush run would impact Mitt's decision to run, she said they would be battling for the same voters.
Speculation about a comeback for two-time presidential candidate Romney was given renewed life when a
CNN poll showed voters would vote for Romney if the election were held today.
In the CNN/ORC International poll, Romney would beat Obama 53 percent to 44 percent. In 2012, Obama defeated Romney by a 51 percent to 47 percent margin.
At the same time, a USA Today/Suffolk University poll found Romney the chosen candidate with 35 percent of likely GOP Iowa caucus voters, reported
Politico.
Romney said she found the CNN poll results "shocking," but believes it reflects that "people recognize that Mitt was right and that he would have been a good president."
"That does make you feel good. But it still doesn't change our mind," she told Cavuto.
What Romney would like to see, she told the Fox Business News host, was more women candidates mentioned as potential Republican presidential candidates.
"I wish I could see some women out there. I love [South Carolina Gov.] Nikki Haley. There's some others out there — [New Mexico Gov.] Susana Martinez — that I think are intriguing, I'd love to see more women participate. [New Hampshire Sen.] Kelly Ayotte, by the way, she's a wonderful, wonderful friend."
Romney was highly critical of Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz equating the policies of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to giving "women the back of his hand."
"It's ridiculous. Honestly. I don't think they are getting far with that, by the way. I think women are smarter than that," Romney said.
