Cindy Mills, a former Subway franchisee, says she warned the company that its spokesman Jared Fogle was having sex with children in 2008, but the company took no action.
Mills told Business Insider that Fogle began calling her daily after they met at a Subway function and told her about having sex with prostitutes in Thailand and the United States between the ages of 9 and 16.
"He would just tell me he really liked them young," Mills said.
Fogle also suggested she prostitute herself through Craigslist, she said.
Mills said she contacted Subway, but her complaints were ignored. Fogle technically was an employee of a sister company, Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust, so she contacted CEO Jeff Moody, who cut her off and indicated he had heard similar complaints.
Moody assured her that Fogle had met a woman he was in love with, and they were convinced she would keep him grounded, Mills said.
Moody is now CEO of Rita's Italian Ice, and did not respond to Business Insider's request for comment, the website said. Subway told the website, "Jeff Moody hasn't worked for the brand for years and we have no record of this allegation."
Mills said she feared Fogle and Subway were powerful enough to take her job, so she didn't report the incidents to police, opting instead to eventually sell her Subway franchises.
Fogle faces charges of possessing and distributing child pornography and crossing state lines to have sex with minors. He has said he will plead guilty and pay $1.4 million in restitution to 14 of his victims.
