The world has no confidence in U.S. leadership because they don't know what our plans to fight terrorism are, Rep. Michele Bachmann told Fox News.
"The world was looking to the military and economic superpower of the world for direction. President Obama has failed to give that direction," the Minnesota Republican said Thursday on Fox News Channel's
"On the Record with Greta Van Susteren."
Bachmann said that in private meetings, she has been told by heads of state they don't know if their countries will remain our friends.
"It seems like you're friends with our enemies, and now you're dissing your allies," Bachmann quoted them as saying.
Bachmann was responding to a story told by Secretary of State John Kerry of a conversation he had with a foreign minister in an African nation about dealing with Islamic extremists.
"What he said to me that was most important is that they're disciplined, and they don't have a five-year plan, they have a 30-year plan," Kerry said. "We don't even have a five-year plan. So we've got to get our act together."
Bachmann agreed, telling Van Susteren that six years into the Obama administration, it still isn't clear what the president's foreign policy strategy is.
"That's the very definition of chaos," she said.
