Seventy-one percent of likely U.S. voters support the use of unmanned drone aircraft to kill terror suspects, according to a new survey by
Rasmussen Reports, up from 63 percent from a year ago but lower than the 76 percent of respondents who supported the drone program in February 2012, shortly after President Barack Obama acknowledged its existence.
Just 12 percent said they opposed the use of drones, with 17 percent undecided according to the new survey, which polled 1,000 likely voters on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
Rasmussen found that 56 percent of those who support the use of drones against terrorists believe their use should be increased for this purpose, well above 39 percent who favored an increase in May 2013.
