Fair Weather Friend Dems Increasingly Abandon Blacks

For the past several months, I’ve been shocked by governors like New York's Andrew Cuomo, California's Jerry Brown, and most recently Phil Murphy in my own state of New Jersey.

They have been encouraging illegal and undocumented immigrants to flock to their states — offering them sanctuary, and everything from tax payer funded social services programs, to college grants, many of which are not even offered to the children of U.S. citizens.

To make matters worse, some of these Democratic governors, and even mayors, are doing everything in their power to harbor illegal immigrants from federal immigration authorities, in violation of federal law.

The mayor of Oakland, California came under the scrutiny of the Justice Department for warning illegals in her community of an impending immigration raid.

That is a federal crime.

Sadly, besides spending millions in tax payer dollars to fund these programs for illegals, many of those same communities are seeing substantial increases in violence and poverty, and declines in real-estate values, and economic development.

San Francisco hotels have been handing out flyers, apologizing to their occupants for the disgusting neighborhood surrounding their hotels — junkies, needles, condoms, and a litany of filth, all of which will eventually lead to violence in their streets.

So, why all of a sudden have these Democratic political leaders abandoned law and order, deciding to spend millions of our hard-earned tax dollars on illegal and undocumented aliens?

Why would states like California, and cities like Chicago be attempting to give illegal and undocumented illegals the rights to vote in our elections when they’re not even citizens,  — and it violates federal law?

For the life of me, I could not figure it out, until this past week, and then in one simple tweet, I got it. "I love the way Candace Owens thinks," tweeted rap superstar and music producer Kanye West.

Then it all made sense.

Owens, a spunky 28-year old black female from Stamford, Connecticut, who admits that two years ago, she herself was a liberal, has for the past year, entertained me and hundreds of thousands of Americans with her sporadic YouTube posts. In those, she has called out the political left, more so the Democratic Party, for their failures in the black communities around the country.

Having been a New York City cop in the mid-1980s under Democratic rule, and then the city’s police commissioner, working with Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani on the renaissance of the Big Apple where we achieved a 65 percent reduction in violent crime, and a 70 percent reduction in homicides, I found it ironic as to how spot on she was.

For every percentage point we reduced crime in New York City, we witnessed increases in economic development, real-estate values, and tourism. Republican Mayor Michael Bloomberg followed suit, continuing historic crime reductions of the safest and cleanest large city in America.

However, with his departure, and the election of Democratic Mayor Bill DeBlasio, the quality of life in New York City has begun to plummet. The filth ridden streets of the 1970s and 1980s are returning.

The homeless and panhandlers are back, and DeBlasio also has had no problem spending millions in American tax dollars on, and offering sanctuary to, people who are in our country illegally.

Owens’ message could not be clearer . . . the Democratic party has done little to nothing for the black communities nationwide, yet has continually asked for their support.

Therein lies the reason for the Democratic Party’s new found love for illegal immigrants.

Democrats are losing the black vote.

Blacks like Owens, Ben Carson, retired Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke and Trump supporter Joy Villa, a black female singer and song writer, have been taking their message to America’s black communities.

It’s been echoed by Lawrence B. Jones III, a black conservative talk show host, and even Elder Lansing who I had never heard of, but now see his daily twitter messages slam the Democratic Party for their failures.

Joseph Holland, a black Cornell University football star with a Harvard law degree, who lives in Harlem and is running for New York governor as a Republican, is another black voice fed up with the Democratic party’s false promises.

Holland declares that he and Republicans can do better.

In December, the black unemployment rate declined to 6.8 percent. This is the lowest level since at least 1972. A time when the U.S. government begin tracking the figures — according to CNN Money.

Robert Johnson, the nation’s first black billionaire recently talked about how Republican President Donald Trump’s economy is bringing black workers back into the labor force. "When you look at that January report, you have to say something is going to right," said Johnson, a Democrat and founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET).

That’s the bottom line. Something’s going right, but not for the Democratic Party.

The spokesperson for the Congress of Racial Equality, Niger Innes said, "Democrats are terrified that this president gets north of 10 to 15 percent of the black vote." He added,  "And they’re terrified because, if that happens, then it is first of all, mathematically, electorally impossible for a Democrat to win."

I, like Mr. Innes believe that that is a strong possibility. This is why the Democratic Party is pandering to illegal immigrants, and spending millions of tax dollars on them, while endangering our communities at the same time.

Following that, Owens’ tweet by Kanye, another firestorm was set off when he tweeted that he loved Donald Trump. Then something unexpected happened. A well-known rapper and record producer by the name of Chancellor Jonathan Bennett, who goes by the name of Chance the Rapper, sent out a tweet, "Black people don’t have to be Democrats."

Chance said he wasn’t defending Kanye, but whether he was or was not, he’s right — blacks do not have to be Democrats, and Candice Owens, Kanye, Joe Holland, Joy Villa and others are making that loud and clear to America’s poverty and violence stricken black communities. The more they do, the Democratic party will increasingly abandon them for criminal and illegal immigrants, their new found loves.
