Will Hollywood liberal extraordinaire Amy Pascal, co-chair of Sony Entertainment, be fired, or resign, for her racial tainted email comments about Barack Obama’s movie preferences and slur against celebrities who adopt black children?
Regarding Obama, rather than pick up the phone and personally apologize to the president, for whom she has raised big dollars, she went on bended knee to his race czar, the Rev. Al Sharpton, seeking forgiveness for her “slip of the send key” comments.
She obviously thought that if Obama’s ex-officio assistant to the president provided absolution and cleansed her of her sins of momentary bigotry, that all would be forgiven.
After all, if the Rev. Al says she and Sony are forgiven, then what can the NAACP, Urban League, black churches, black press or Congressional Black Caucus say — all of whom Sharpton has made irrelevant and supplanted on issues related to black America?
How sad. Many blacks will tell you that under the right circumstances, if you scratch a white liberal you will find a smattering of paternalistic white privilege racism.
Oh how they apologize and seek forgiveness when their little racist jokes or comments — on the phone, at swank Hollywood, Georgetown, New York, or Washington D.C. brie and wine socials, or in emails — are discovered.
These are the same white liberals who claim to know more about what is best for black Americans than black Americans — especially black conservatives. These are the same white liberals who talk about how they or their parents fought for civil rights for blacks, yet employ few if any blacks in key positions in their businesses.
However, when it comes to blacks who disagree with their liberal solutions, they are the first to yell “Uncle Tom.” They know they will have the cover of their black liberal cohorts.
Pascal is a great example of liberal hypocrisy on race. Her comments about the president show not only what many liberals really think about blacks. In the final analysis, Obama is just another black who likes only black movies. It demonstrates the great racial double standard.
If she were a white Republican or conservative, most likely she would have been pink slipped within days. And, there would have been an orchestrated chorus of the usual suspects calling for her scalp: Sharpton, the NAACP, the Congressional Black Caucus and the Obamatized mainstream media.
When black and white liberals only react and respond to racist comments by Republicans or conservatives, and circle the wagons to protect and cover their own liberal democrat flock who utter similar comments, they come off looking like the racial hypocrites they are. Oprah Winfrey is a good example.
Winfrey joined other liberals in expressing outrage when Los Angeles Lakers owner Donald Sterling’s racist phone call comments were made public. Referring to Sterling’s comments, she said, “we’re all off the plantation. The plantation days are over.”
But, when the racial shoe was on Pascal’s liberal foot, Winfrey came to her defense telling CNN that there “ are things that you say in your private conversations with your friends and with your colleagues that you would not want to be broadcast on CNN.”
How convenient. How hypocritical. Sterling eventually lost his basketball franchise but Pascal is still working at Sony. There has been no reprimand or punishment for her offensive comments. And now we learn through media reports on radar.com, that Pascal has made other racial comments. She said that many stars want to do television because it is the “new black baby” — a reference to the fact that many celebrities have adopted black children.
Will she apologize for this slur and ask forgiveness from Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron, Steven Spielberg, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, and others who have adopted black children?
Will Oprah come to her defense?
Regardless of whether Sharpton or the celebrities accept her apologies, Sony should show her the door.
