It is a shame that in today’s world one country can deny a visit by a peaceful person (of another country) denying entry across their borders; even when the guest is invited by one of the country's own citizens.
That is exactly what is happening in Australia. Let's not confuse this situation with the current immigration wars. We're talking about a peaceful visit — not an attempt at illegal entry.
Here's the situation. Troy Newman of the Prolife activist group Operation Rescue was invited to visit Australia for a 10 day speaking tour by Australia Right to Life. While en route, Troy found out that his visa has been cancelled by Minister of Immigration Peter Dutton, at the request of a pro-abortion Member of Parliament, Terri Butler.
Terri alleges that Troy is an activist, advocating violence against abortion providers.
Nothing could be further from the truth. I have known Troy for many years and have witnessed his dedication to ending abortion through peaceful means, using the law to reign in a lawless industry. Through Operation Rescue, he and Cheryl Sullenger’s investigative works have exposed many abortionists and abortion centers that are operating outside the law.
Troy is no stranger to adversity. He has faced many trials in his work fighting for the unborn and I’m sure this will not be his last trial.
Troy is a prayerful faith filled man who relies on strength and direction from God.
As James 1:2-4 (NIV) says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Let's join Troy in prayer as he faces yet another trial of faith. May God continue to grant him the love, faith, grace, and wisdom to persevere yet again, coming closer and closer —going from victory to victory in the goal to glorify Christ for life.
Along with the spiritual there’s the practical side of things. In an update I received recently, “they [the government of Australia ] are fining us thousands of dollars in restitution! They’re charging us for a stay in jail, court fees — anything and everything they can pin on Troy.
Let’s cut to the chase here. Operation Rescue is being penalized for fighting for life. This fine is effectively a massive pro-life tax.”

Whatever you can or cannot do, please start by lifting Troy up in prayer that God will give him the strength to endure this persecution and keep his spirits up. Stand with Troy as he takes a hit for life.
