The AARP Now app was launched to streamline its services and allow members to manage their accounts and directly access their benefits.
Like any app, there are pros and cons, but here are six perks of the AARP Now app, as explained by the organization:
1. Digital card and membership — In a move towards convenience, the app allows members to access and manage their accounts from their phones.
2. Explore events — Through the AARP Now app, members can stay up-to-date on all the events taking place in their communities, and all at the tips of their fingers. The app also allows users to register for these events directly from their phones.
3. Deals — Special offers available to AARP members are added monthly, and now app users can browse for benefits and discounts specifically in their neighborhood, from their phones.

4. Customized notifications and alerts — The app makes it possible for members to set push notification reminders for any upcoming events or nearby deals they may have saved. Navigating and managing these alerts and messages is easily done in the app's settings.
5. Direct access to news — AARP provides members access to the latest news and now AARP Now app users can stay informed by catching up on breaking news in minutes from their phones.
