While most vacationers travel to Orlando, Florida, for Disneyworld, it is pricey. Luckily for more cost-conscious souls, the popular tourist destination also offers cheap travel options, and some even involve the friendly talking mouse that Disney is known for.

Here are five great attractions for visitors on a limited budget.

1. Downtown Disney: Want to enjoy the Disney experience without the expensive park admission, parking hassles and aggravation? Explore the expansive World of Disney store and the Lego Imagination Center, where children can create for free at the Lego building stations.

Built on the waterfront, Downtown Disney also includes an indoor interactive theme park, a DJ Kids Dance Party, a bowling alley, and a movie theater.

2. Disney's Boardwalk: This invites visitors to travel to a time when strolling the boardwalk was an all-encompassing, enjoyable family event. Surrey bikes, arcades, and more all greet vacationers, who can also take in a nightly dueling pianos competition at Jellyrolls — or simply enjoy the water views and street entertainers.

3. Universal CityWalk: Rather than pay to enter the Universal theme park, visitors can experience this multilevel entertainment complex for merely the cost of parking. The website calls CityWalk the "one place with anything and everything you want to make your nights come alive," as it combines shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Water taxis are free to help you get around.

4. The town of Celebration: If you've ever wondered what it's like to live in Disney's world, take time out for a visit to Celebration. Disney constructed this town of bright, picturesque homes, sprawling squares, and well-kept, pretty stores. Time it right, and you may happen upon machine-induced snow or falling leaves.

5. Old Town: With more than 70 shops, there are plenty of reasons to stop by Old Town in nearby Kissimmee. Enjoy a free rock-'n-roll concert and an assortment of vintage cars on Saturday nights.
