Nebraska ranks 34th in a 2014 list of the
best states for gun owners compiled by Guns and Ammo. "The Cornhusker State requires a certificate to purchase a handgun, even from a private individual other than a close relative." Scores were compiled based on right to carry laws, restrictions on sporting rifles, National Firearms Act rights, the Castle Doctrine and a miscellaneous category.
Here are six spots for firearms and pistol practice in the state of Nebraska:

Big Shots Indoor Range & Gun Store: Located in Lincoln, this facility includes a state-of-the-art range, with nine shooting lanes and a 3-D archery range. Guns are available to rent and there is a retail store with over 300 firearms on site. Concealed carry and private firearm instruction is available.

"The range is modern, clean and well-managed by the safety officers on staff. The staff members in the shooting range were helpful and I think they would be very courteous to someone new to shooting and needing guidance or instruction," writes a reviewer on Yelp.

Take Aim: Located in Bellevue, this basic gun range has 10 climate controlled shooting lanes. Basic pistol and concealed carry instruction is available. Friday night is date night and two people can be in the same shooting bay.
"The range is very nice, and modern. Staff/owners are extremely attentive…He was meticulous about keeping brass off the floors, and out of the way of the shooters...It is quite obvious he takes a lot of pride in both his facility, and safety," writes a reviewer on Yelp.

The Bullet Hole: Located in La Vista, this indoor gun range provides twelve 25-yard shooting lanes and an onsite gun store with over 300 firearms in stock. The facility is all on one level making it handicap accessible and "is equipped to handle pistol calibers, most rifle calibers up to .308 and shotguns using slugs or buckshot."
"I've been to the Bullet Hole maybe a dozen times or so. All I ask of the staff is to run an efficient & safe place and get me on the range quickly. They have done that every time," writes a reviewer on Google.

Thunder Alley Indoor Shooting Range: Located in Lincoln, this facility provides six shooting lanes, firearm sales and rentals, instruction ranging from basic to advanced tactical shooting and concealed carry classes. Organized competitions include the Rock N' Thunder match and indoor league matches.

"Great, fun, well maintained shooting range, with an excellent gun shop. Family owned and operated so they always treat you friendly," writes a reviewer on Facebook.

Oak Creek Sporting Club: Located in Brainard, this facility offers a sporting clay course designed to "replicate every conceivable shot encountered in the field from a covey rise to geese settling onto a lake, crossing woodcocks to a flushing pheasant." The 5-Stand features incoming, outgoing, springing teal, left and right crossing shots.
"Not a better place to shoot. They have it all and greatest people around. Can't wait to renew my membership this year," writes a reviewer on Facebook.

Eastern Nebraska Gun Club: Located in Louisville, this facility offers numerous covered ranges including a 600-yard rifle range, a 100 and 300-yard multi-purpose range, a trap range and a pistol complex. Disciplines include everything from Cowboy Action Shooting to The Well-Armed Woman.
"BEST range in eastern Nebraska. There are very active shooting disciplines for everything from USPSA action pistol, to long-range precision rifle, to trap. Great people, great facilities," writes a reviewer on Google.
