The mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia, Mayor Michael Signer, and Governor McAuliffe, have to take some responsibility for the death of Heather Heyer because it looks like the police were told to stand down.
McAuliffe commanded the State Police and Signer the locals.
When I watched the video of the rioting going on, I did not see any police in sight. If the police were allowed to plan and coordinate properly, they would have blocked streets from traffic and kept opposing sides apart. You would never see what happened in Virginia happen in New York City.
This police response was pathetic and shows all the signs of coordination by politicians, not the professional cops. You have to ask yourself, were the cops ordered to stand down?
Nobody in their right mind would do this although we saw it in Baltimore, Ferguson, and Berkeley. These were also Democrat controlled cities.
I’m hoping that the federal investigation into the death of Heather Heyer will also investigate why the police apparently stood down in the midst of the riot. That in itself was a civil rights violation of those injured and peaceful marchers.
We can no longer depend on being protected by the police in many Democratic-run cities.
The erosion of law and order in Democratic-run cities is becoming more and more prevalent every day because progressives believe they know how to police better than the professionals. We can see how well that’s going.
